The plot of the case: according to the investigation, the suspects - deputy mayor Ksenia Sushko and official Victoria Rog - were responsible for the purchase of school furniture for educational institutions in Dnipro. They signed the supply contracts, knowing that the furniture did not meet the requirements and standards of the "New Ukrainian School".
Thus, UAH 3 million from the state budget was unjustifiably transferred to the account of a private enterprise.
Officials were notified of suspicion of embezzlement of someone else's property in particularly large amounts (Part 5 of Article 191 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine). They face up to 12 years of imprisonment with deprivation of the right to hold certain positions or engage in certain activities for a period of up to three years and confiscation of property.
In June 2023, the Zhovtnevy District Court of Dnipro chose her as a preventive measure — night house arrest for a period of 60 days, i.e. until August 13, 2023.
And already on July 26, 2023, the Dnipro Court of Appeal canceled the decision.
Suspect Viktoria Rog was given a preventive measure - a personal bond.
Persons potentially involved in corruption: Ksenia Sushko, Deputy Mayor for the Activities of Executive Bodies, Director of the Humanitarian Policy Department of the Dnipro City Council.
She is also accused, together with Victoria Rog, of embezzlement of property or possession of it by abuse of official position.
At first, the court chose a preventive measure in the form of house arrest for Ksenia Sushko, however, in July 2023, the Dnipro Court of Appeal canceled the house arrest and applied a preventive measure in the form of a personal commitment.
"After receiving the full text of the decision of the Dnipro court of appeals, because only the introductory and final parts were read, the prosecution will study it and make the appropriate decisions. Currently, the pre-trial investigation is ongoing, investigative actions are being carried out in the specified criminal proceedings," prosecutor Oleksandr said at the time Shkolyarov
Wealth: in the declaration for 2023, Rog indicated that she has an apartment,
But if the declaration is to be believed, there are no vehicles in it.
She also declared UAH 426,033 in salary for her main place of work and indicated that she has UAH 240,000 in cash.
Scandals: There is no information in open sources about other scandals involving Rog.
Individuals who should have responded to corruption schemes during his tenure: In the case of Victoria Rog, law enforcement did respond, but she remains at large.
