The plot of the case: in March 2024, Gennady Yaremenko was suspected of abuse of power. He sent servicemen close to him to one of the brigades of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, allegedly to carry out combat missions. However, those who did not participate in the fighting were actually unjustifiably in the frontline zone and lived according to a free schedule. The former official faces up to twelve years in prison.
According to the investigation, in 2022, while serving as the head of the Zaporizhia Regional TCP and SS, the accused sent subordinates close to him to one of the brigades of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, allegedly to perform combat missions.
However, the servicemen there did not take part in the fighting, in fact they were in the frontline zone without any reason and lived according to a free schedule. Thus, seven servicemen who did not take direct part in the fighting were paid over one million hryvnias.
In July 2024, suspicion was reported against the former head of the Zaporizhia Regional Territorial Center for Recruiting and Social Support, Gennady Yaremenko. He is accused of abuse of office and aiding and abetting a serviceman in evading military service obligations committed during martial law.
According to the investigation, 52-year-old Yaremenko, while serving as head of the Zaporizhia Regional TCP and Joint Venture, illegally engaged three servicemen to perform repair work from February to July last year. They were carried out on real estate owned by the former owner and his family members.
Probably, we are talking about a house of almost 150 sq.m. in the village of Dolynske, Zaporizhia district. It is registered to his wife, Tetyana Yaremenko. The property was purchased in 2023 for almost 650 thousand hryvnias. Among them, the family has two more apartments in Zaporizhia (68 and 36 sq.m.), a Mazda CX-5 car (2021 model year). Last year, he received 477.7 thousand hryvnias in salary.
Subsequently, the suspect, using his official position, unjustifiably paid his subordinates additional remuneration in the amount of almost 270 thousand UAH. With his illegal actions, he caused losses to the state.


In January 2026, it became known that the HIgh Anti-Corruption Court recognized the assets of the family of the former head of the Zaporizhia Regional Territorial Center for Recruitment and Social Support, Hennadiy Yaremenko, worth more than UAH 3.8 million, as unfounded.
As noted, the HACC recognized as unfounded assets worth over UAH 3.8 million, which were acquired by the former head of the Zaporizhia Regional TCP together with his wife.
According to the materials of the State Bureau of Investigation and the National Anti-Corruption Commission, the High Anti-Corruption Court partially satisfied the lawsuit of the Specialized Anti-Corruption Prosecutor's Office to recognize as unfounded the assets of the family of the former head of one of the regional territorial centers for recruitment and social support in the amount of over UAH 3.8 million
According to the agencies, these include: a house with a land plot worth over 1.8 million hryvnias and 253 thousand hryvnias, respectively; two cars registered to the official's wife; and 20 thousand US dollars purchased by him and his wife.
The court ruled to collect the house with the land plot, as well as the cost of one of the cars - 786 thousand UAH - as state revenue.
According to the NACP, an analysis of the income and expenses of the former official and his family showed that it was impossible to purchase this property at the expense of legal income. It was also established that the assets were purchased for cash, while the family mainly spent confirmed income in non-cash form. At the same time, the court decision can be appealed within 30 days from the date of its full text.
Persons potentially involved in corruption schemes: being identified.
Assets: In his 2024 tax return, Yaremenko listed two apartments, a residential building, and three land plots. He also indicated that he received UAH 279,583 in pension and UAH 8,000 in social benefits, as well as UAH 1,578,764 in wages.





Persons who should have reacted: in the case of Yaremenko, law enforcement officers reacted in a timely manner.
