Case story: On August 23, 2024, operatives of the Strategic Investigations Department of the National Police detained Andriy Zhydachek, the deputy head of the Solonkivska AH near Lviv, for accepting a bribe. According to law enforcement officers, he demanded money for resolving land issues.
According to preliminary information, Andriy Zhydachek demanded $2,800 for assistance in resolving land issues. The exposure of the official in extortion and receiving illegal benefits to journalists ZAXID.NET was confirmed by the Department of Strategic Investigations of the National Police. Later, the department clarified that the deputy head of the community was detained while receiving $1,000 for assistance in legalizing the privatization of a land plot and a residential building.
On August 7, the court chose Andriy Zhydachek as a preventive measure in the form of detention with the possibility of posting bail in the amount of UAH 241,000.
On September 11, the head of the Solonkivska Village Council, Bohdan Dubnevych, dismissed his deputy for executive bodies and international relations, Andriy Zhydachek, on August 23.
Later, Andriy Zhydachek returned to work and now works in the village council as an inspector for international activities and projects.
Persons potentially involved in corruption schemes: no information is available from open sources about possible accomplices.
Assets: In his 2023 declaration, Zhedachek indicated that he owned only one plot of land without his own home.
The official also declared an Infiniti Q50, purchased during the full-scale war. And his wife owns a Volkswagen Jetta. The total cost of both cars is UAH 1,087,470.
Zhydachek's salary for 2023 was UAH 934,521.
The official declared 428,000 UAH, 4,000 euros, and 1,500 Azerbaijani manats in cash.
Persons who should have responded: Law enforcement agencies responded to Zhydachek's criminal activities in a timely manner. However, despite this, he still holds a public position and continues to work.
Scandals: In November 2020, Andriy Zhydachek, who at that time was a deputy of the Pustomyty City Council from "European Solidarity", was involved in a public scandal when, together with his colleague, deputy of the Solonkiv Village Council, first deputy of the community, Mykola Puschak, drove a Mercedes G 500 to the porch of a high-rise building in Pustomyty. Judging by the behavior of both deputies, they were in a state of severe intoxication. After the incident, "European Solidarity" announced their expulsion from the party. Subsequently, Zhydachek resigned as a deputy of the Pustomyty City Council, while Puschak remained a deputy of the Solonkiv Village Council.
