The plot of the case: in late May 2025, law enforcement officers exposed the deputy head of the Kamianets-Podilskyi district council for taking a bribe. The official promised to issue a disability group II to a friend for a $5,000 reward. Now he faces up to eight years in prison.
According to the investigation, the deputy head of the Kamianets-Podilskyi district council offered his friend help in obtaining a disability group II for his daughter, which would later allow her son-in-law to receive a deferral from mobilization. To resolve this issue, he offered to influence the doctors of the expert group for a reward of $5,000.
A 61-year-old official was detained while receiving money. The issue of imposing a preventive measure on him and removing him from office is currently being considered.
The official website of the Kamianets-Podilskyi District Council lists 61-year-old Mykola Zhohan as the deputy chairman. The official was charged with receiving unlawful benefit (Part 3, Article 369-2 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine). The sanction of the article provides for three to eight years of imprisonment with confiscation of property.
