The High Anti-Corruption Court released on bail of UAH 100 million MP Viktor Bondar, whom the National Anti-Corruption Bureau and the Specialized Anti-Corruption Prosecutor's Office suspect of co-organizing the embezzlement of funds from JSC Ukrzaliznytsia during the purchase of cable and wire products.

To refuse to grant the motion. To apply a preventive measure in the form of a bail of UAH 100 million to the suspect Bondar Viktor Vasylovich

– the judge announced the decision.

People's Deputy Bondar was given the following duties: not to leave Kyiv and Kyiv region without permission; to arrive upon every request; to report a change of his place of residence; to refrain from communicating with other suspects, witnesses, and persons specified in the resolution; to refrain from visiting the buildings of branches and JSC Ukrzaliznytsia itself; to hand over his foreign passports for safekeeping.

As a reminder, NABU and SAPO reported suspicions against MP Bondar. According to the investigation, the suspect MP Bondar and businessman Volodymyr Kotlyar developed a scheme that involved supplying UZ products at inflated prices.

To do this, they entered into a collusion with members of an organized group that was a kind of "back office" of the company, informally controlled its activities, and for a certain percentage of the procurement amount could ensure the victory of the "right" companies in UZ tenders.

During 2021-2022, UZ concluded contracts with companies controlled by the entrepreneur, which supplied products at prices above market prices. As a result of the scheme, Ukrzaliznytsia suffered losses in the amount of more than UAH 140 million.

Recall, we previously wrote that the arrest of the head of the Khmelnytskyi MSEC was extended and the bail was reduced.

We also wrote that the Supreme Court of Ukraine arrested a former official in absentia in the Isayenko case.
