Zakarpattia district council deputy suspected of false declarations
The Zacarpathian Regional Prosecutor's Office reported suspicions against a deputy of the Beregov District Council for lying in a declaration of UAH 8.3 million.
The deputy of the district council did not indicate in his 2022 declaration the Ford Mustang car, which he used with his wife, a multi-million-dollar income, as well as financial transactions from the purchase and sale of a Mercedes-Benz S-Class. The deputy purchased this car in October 2022 for UAH 3.75 million, although his confirmed income for more than 20 years of entrepreneurial activity amounted to less than UAH 227 thousand.
According to the investigation, within a few days the deputy sold the Mercedes and used the money for his own needs. These transactions, as well as the income from the sale of the car, were not included in the declaration.
The deputy's actions are qualified as intentional inclusion by the subject of declaration of knowingly false information in the person's declaration, as well as legalization (laundering) of property obtained by criminal means (Part 1 of Article 209, Part 2 of Article 366-2 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine).
The prosecutor's office is not disclosing the suspect's name, but according to information from the deputy of the Zacarpathian Regional Council, Vitaliy Glagola, it is 41-year-old Arseniy Bohar, a deputy of the Beregov District Council from the "Servant of the People" party. According to Glagola, Arseniy Bohar's cars are a 2017 Ford Mustang and a 2020 Mercedes-Benz S-Class.
Earlier, in the Rivne region, a former deputy of one of the village councils of the Dubno district was reported on suspicion of entering inaccurate data into an electronic declaration .
In addition, in Zaporizhia, law enforcement officers exposed the former head of the department of the main department of the State Tax Service. The woman is suspected of entering false information into the declaration. According to the investigation, the defendant hid the purchase of real estate in a popular resort in Bulgaria.
