Ex-Energy Minister Nasalyk’s Case Sent to Court

The State Bureau of Investigation has completed a pre-trial investigation into the former Minister of Energy and Coal Industry of Ukraine and the former head of one of the departments of this ministry. The case has been transferred to court.
According to media sources, this concerns the case of the former head of the Ministry of Energy and Coal Industry, Ihor Nasalyk.
According to the investigation, on the instructions of the head of the ministry, his subordinate, the head of the department of the Ministry of Energy and Coal Industry, concluded deals with the structures of a well-known businessman that were knowingly unprofitable for the state.
In particular, in violation of the Cabinet of Ministers' resolution, officials artificially "wrote off" money from merchants for the operation of state property.
It turned out that the amount of revenue not received by the budget for the period from May 2017 to December 2020 is 1 billion 488 million hryvnias.
The former minister is accused of abuse of office (Part 2, Article 364 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine). He faces up to six years in prison.

It also became known earlier that two military personnel were exposed for corruption in Odessa.
