Court Extends Duties of Ex-Deputy Economy Minister
The High Anti-Corruption Court extended the term of office of Oleksandr Hryban, former Deputy Minister of Economy, Head of the Department of Energy Generation and Implementation of ESG Standards at PJSC Ukrnafta, until February 4, 2025. NABU and SAPO suspect him of embezzlement of UAH 33.7 million.
As is known, the anti-corruption court set Hryban a bail of UAH 939,400. He was also given the following obligations: to appear upon first demand; not to leave Ukraine without permission; to report any change in his place of residence and place of work; to refrain from communicating with a number of persons and to surrender his foreign passports. The Appeals Chamber of the Supreme Administrative Court increased his bail to UAH 2.7 million, and left the list of obligations unchanged. The SAPO prosecutor once again requested to extend the obligations for another two months.
The prosecutor's motion to extend the term of the duties imposed on the suspect shall be granted. To extend the term of the duties imposed on the suspect (Hryban – ed.) under Part 5 of Article 194 of the Criminal Procedure Code for two months, until February 4, 2025 inclusive.

As a reminder, NABU and SAPO have reported suspicions to First Deputy Minister of Agricultural Policy Taras Vysotsky and former Deputy Minister of Economy Oleksandr Hryban. Vysotsky is suspected of involvement in abuses in two purchases of pasta as humanitarian aid, which caused UAH 62.5 million in losses. Hryban is indicted for only one episode - for UAH 33.7 million in losses.
