Customs Officer’s Wife Fined UAH 309,000 for Hiding Income

The National Agency for Corruption Prevention (NACP) has found violations in the declaration of a State Customs Service official from Khmelnytskyi region. He allegedly understated his wife's income by more than 12 times, so the tax office ordered her to pay UAH 309,000 to the state budget.
During a full audit of the declaration of a State Customs Service official from Khmelnytskyi region, it was revealed that his wife's bank accounts received over UAH 1.4 million from almost 800 people. At the same time, only UAH 112,000 of income from her entrepreneurial activities was declared.
The declarant's wife, upon request of the NACP, explained that during the reporting period she received income as an individual entrepreneur in the amount of UAH 112,000, which was indicated in the tax reporting. Such explanations indicated that the woman could have hidden other amounts of income from taxation.
When verifying this information, the State Tax Service confirmed that the declarant's wife violated the requirements of tax legislation as an individual entrepreneur. She hid income from taxation, in particular, from her entrepreneurial activities, and did not pay the required amount to the state.
Based on the results of an unscheduled inspection, the tax service decided to recover over UAH 309,000 from the declarant's wife (over UAH 274,000 in principal payments and over UAH 35,700 in penalties). That is, the amount of additional charges almost tripled the amount of declared income.
We will remind you that the HACC left Kyrylenko in the position of AMCU.
