Ex-State Enterprise Head Suspected of Underselling Produce
The former head of a state-owned enterprise in Poltava region has been charged with abuse of office. According to investigators, the company may have lost almost 2.7 million hryvnias due to contracts he concluded.
This was reported on the official website of the Poltava Regional Prosecutor's Office. According to law enforcement officials, this is an enterprise that grows agricultural products.
Between December 2022 and December 2023, the official concluded 17 contracts with six companies for the supply of agricultural products. In particular, the company sold wheat, corn, soybeans, and other grain and leguminous crops.
According to the prosecutor's office, the products were sold at prices lower than possible market prices. As a result, the state-owned enterprise lost about 2.7 million hryvnias in revenue.
The former head of the enterprise was informed of suspicion under Part 2 of Article 364 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine "Abuse of official position, which caused grave consequences."
The sanction under the article provides for imprisonment for a term of three to six years with deprivation of the right to hold certain positions or engage in certain activities for a term of up to three years, with a fine of 8,500 to 17,000 hryvnias.
