SAPO Sends $140,000 Bribery Case Over Lutsk Development to Court
The Specialized Anti-Corruption Prosecutor's Office has sent an indictment to the court against a deputy of the Lutsk City Council in the case of extortion of $140,000 while assisting in the construction of an apartment building.
This was reported by the press service of the SAPO.
According to the investigation, two deputies of the Volyn Regional Council and two deputies of the Lutsk City Council, who head factions, acted in collusion. They asked the former people's deputy, the user of the land plot, to give them $140,000 in exchange for making the necessary decisions for development.
Of this amount, $110,000 was to be received by regional council deputies and other individuals, and another $30,000 by two heads of factions of the Lutsk City Council. The investigation documented the transfer and receipt of part of the funds, as well as their distribution among the suspects.
In addition, according to the investigation, one of the deputies of the Volyn Regional Council and two deputies of Lutskhrady requested another $3,000 for making decisions necessary for the construction of 14 residential buildings in Lutsk.
The deputy is accused of committing crimes under Part 3, Part 4 of Article 368 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine.
