Ex-Zakarpattia Judge Released on Parole
A court in Chernihiv region has released on parole Anton Gaidur, a former judge of the Mizhhirsky District Court of the Zakarpattia region, who was imprisoned for 5 years for receiving illegal benefits.

As is known, the High Anti-Corruption Court found Gaidur guilty of receiving illegal benefits. He was sentenced to 5 years in prison and a ban on holding certain positions for 3 years, with the confiscation of all his property.
Since May 31, 2022, the convict Gaidur has been serving his sentence in the state institution "Mensk Correctional Colony No. 91". He served most of the prescribed term of imprisonment, had no penalties, and had 3 incentives for conscientious behavior and attitude to work. According to the institution representative, Gaidur has proven his re-education and has embarked on the path of correction. The convict is employed in the sewing department of the institution's enterprise, and he treats his work responsibly.
On June 15, 2026, the Mensky District Court of Chernihiv Oblast granted the petition and released Gaidur on probation. On August 3, the Chernihiv Court of Appeal left this decision unchanged. Later, the prosecutor of the Chernihiv Oblast Prosecutor's Office filed a cassation appeal against this decision, but the Supreme Court refused to open proceedings, since decisions on probation are not subject to cassation appeal.
As a reminder, the National Anti-Corruption Bureau caught TZakarpathian judge Anton Gaidur red-handed while receiving 15,000 hryvnias of illegal gain. The investigation established that the servant of Themis requested and received the specified amount of money from an individual for the satisfaction of a civil claim.
