Ex-Deputy Social Policy Minister accused of negligence
The former Deputy Minister of Social Policy of Ukraine has been reported on suspicion of official negligence, as he organized an unfounded purchase for 24 million hryvnias.
This was reported by the press service of the Prosecutor General's Office on January 20.
Under the procedural guidance of the Prosecutor General's Office, the former Deputy Minister of Social Policy of Ukraine was notified of suspicion of official negligence (Part 2 of Article 367 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine)
The UCP does not name the suspect, but, according to media reports, it is Boris Lebedtsov.
According to the investigation, during February-May 2022, during the implementation of the Project "Modernization of Social Support Systems for the Population of Ukraine", the suspect committed official negligence.
He concluded an additional agreement to the main contract, which unjustifiably expanded the number of objects of the contract and increased the amount of purchases of computer equipment that is not used by the Ministry's employees. This was implemented without conducting a feasibility study for equipping the united territorial communities with computer equipment and without approval from the Ministry of Digital Transformation.
As a result, the Ministry of Social Policy suffered losses totaling UAH 24 million, law enforcement officials reported. The issue of imposing a preventive measure on the suspect is being resolved.
It was previously reported that the Supreme Court of Ukraine extended the investigation into Zadorozhny's case until April.
We also wrote that the Supreme Court of Justice will begin considering the case of the deputy chairman of the Zaporizhzhia Regional Council.
