A doctor from Khmelnytskyi was exposed for selling fake certificates
Employees of the National Police and the Security Service of Ukraine seized almost UAH 8 million from a doctor from Khmelnytskyi who was exposed for bribery. For a bribe of 3,000-8,000 dollars, the deputy head of the military medical commission of the regional TCC issued false certificates for evaders, the press service of the National Police, the Prosecutor General's Office reported on Monday, October 14.
The investigators found that the deputy head of the MMC, who is a neurologist, also involved an emergency medical assistant in the corruption scheme. Accomplices helped men of mobilization age to get a disability group, which gives reasons to avoid conscription.
A paramedic organized a search for citizens who intended to receive a disability group. The doctor registered clients for inpatient treatment at the neurological department and produced medical documents without their actual stay. In the future, this became the basis for establishing disability groups
The press service of the Prosecutor General's Office reported that law enforcement officers detained a paramedic while accepting a bribe on October 10.
During the searches, 182,000 dollars and 6,500 euros were seized from the suspects, which is almost 8 million hryvnias. The law enforcement officers also found drafts with clients' names, diagnoses, sums, medical documents, etc.
Prosecutors reported the suspicion to the deputy head of the MMC of the district TPC and to the doctor of the emergency medical aid substation. They are suspected of abuse of influence (Part 3 of Article 369-2 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine). The sanction of the article provides up to eight years of imprisonment with confiscation of property.
Currently, the paramedic has been remanded in custody with the possibility of bail. The petition regarding the deputy head of the MMC is under consideration in court. Police officers are investigating the involvement of MSEC employees in the crime, as well as evaders who managed to use the services of doctors.
We will remind, on October 4, employees of the State Bureau of Investigation (SBI) exposed the head of the Khmelnytskyi MSEK and her son for illegal enrichment. During the searches, they found 6 million dollars in cash, jewelry and branded items. The woman tried to get rid of part of the money by throwing two bags with half a million dollars out the window.
Tetyana Krupa and her son Oleksandr are involved in the EBK database.
We also wrote that in Zhytomyr, law enforcement officers seized more than 4.4 million hryvnias from a doctor who issued fake results of magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) to conscripts.
