Doctors in Khmelnytskyi to stand trial for corruption scheme

A neurologist, an emergency medical assistant, and a member of a medical advisory commission will be tried in the Khmelnytskyi region for abuse of influence. According to the investigation, they helped to register disability for men of military age, the Khmelnytskyi regional prosecutor's office reported.
According to their information, the doctors developed a scheme for illegal earnings.
The paramedic was looking for people who intended to receive a disability group. The doctor registered the "clients" for inpatient treatment in the neurological department and, without actually staying in the hospital, produced medical documents. The LCC member signed the documents
The price of such services ranged from $3,600 to $7,800. During the searches, over $182,000, over €6,500, records, medical documentation, and mobile phones were seized from the doctors.
The suspects face up to 8 years in prison.
Earlier, in Lviv, police officers, together with operatives from the Strategic Investigations Department of the National Police, exposed a criminal group that was smuggling conscripts abroad under the guise of humanitarian aid drivers .
In addition, in Sumy region, police officers exposed an employee of the district TCP and SS who, in exchange for a bribe, removed information from the register of persons evading military service . The woman was reported to the police and taken into custody.
