Illegal car import scheme under guise of aid to AFU exposed

Detectives of the Territorial Department of the BES in Chernivtsi region uncovered a scheme for the illegal import of cars under the guise of humanitarian aid.
This is reported by the Bureau of Economic Security.
The investigation established that the defendants in the case forged letters of request on behalf of charitable organizations, in which they indicated the need for vehicles for the Armed Forces of Ukraine. In this way, the perpetrators avoided paying customs duties and taxes when importing cars. The vehicles were sold for cash
During the authorized searches, detectives from the BES Territorial Administration seized 5 vehicles registered to charitable organizations, documents, draft records, computer equipment, and mobile phones. The investigation is currently ongoing.
Earlier, SBI officers detained and reported three officers of one of the military units in the Donetsk region on suspicion of stealing fuel . The commander of the material support battalion, his deputy, and the battalion headquarters officer indicated in the documents inflated figures for the military unit's use of fuel and lubricants.
It was also recently reported that in the Odessa region, the State Bureau of Investigation reported suspicions against a military unit official, due to whose negligence more than 2 million UAH in payments to missing soldiers were misappropriated .
