Official in Khmelnytskyi region exposed in waste disposal scheme

The deputy director of a branch of a state-owned enterprise in the Khmelnytskyi region was caught taking bribes. The official took from 7 to 30 thousand UAH for fictitious waste disposal. Now he faces up to ten years in prison. This was reported by the press service of the regional police on February 20.
According to the investigation, the official received from entrepreneurs from 7 to 30 thousand UAH in bribes for fictitious waste disposal and issuance of forged documents confirming this fact for six months. It is previously known that the institution allegedly disposed of 40 to 50 tons of waste per month.
In reality, entrepreneurs buried waste near production facilities, for example, in forests, etc. And the state-owned enterprise itself did not properly dispose of the waste: employees simply buried it in a nearby area. This created a significant environmental and epizootic hazard.
Law enforcement officers conducted 30 authorized searches at the state-owned enterprise and at firms that are its clients, during which they seized mobile phones, computer equipment, documentation and draft records, as well as samples of contaminated soil from cattle cemeteries, which were sent for special examinations.
The deputy director of the Khmelnytskyi branch of the state-owned waste disposal enterprise was detained while receiving another bribe for solving the issue of fictitious disposal and issuing forged documents.
The official has already been charged under Part 2 of Article 364 (abuse of power or official position), Part 1 of Article 366 (official forgery), and Part 3 of Article 368 (acceptance of an offer, promise, or receipt of an unlawful benefit by an official) of the Criminal Code of Ukraine. He faces up to ten years in prison for the offense.
It was previously reported that the head of the RBA was exposed in a mobilization evasion scheme.
