Police officers, together with the Security Service of Ukraine (SSU), detained Roman Butlyar, a former deputy of the Matsoshyn village council in the Lviv region, and his businessman son Bohdan Butlyar. According to the investigation, the 66-year-old former deputy and his 45-year-old son were making money from tax evasion.

According to the SSU and the Lviv Region Prosecutor's Office, the father and son offered clients two options for illegally crossing the state border: registering a fictitious disability or crossing outside official checkpoints. The cost of such services ranged from $10,000 to $15,000.

It is documented that for 15 thousand US dollars, the attackers promised to issue a fictitious group III disability for a conscript by producing fake medical documents.

– the SBU said.

In addition, the defendants received an additional UAH 40,000 for preparing medical certificates, and later another UAH 11,000 for “arranging inpatient treatment” without the patient’s actual presence in a medical facility in the Lviv region.

Law enforcement officers documented the illegal activity and detained the father and son "red-handed" after receiving part of the ill-gotten gains - $7,500.

As noted in the prosecutor's office, the detainees were a former deputy of one of the village councils of the Zhovkva district and his son, a Lviv businessman who is engaged in freight transportation. Law enforcement officers are not disclosing more details of the case. According to media reports, suspicions were raised against Roman Butlyar, a former deputy of the Matsoshyn village council, and his son Bohdan Butlyar.

During a search of the father's residence, ammunition for small arms was discovered and seized. The ammunition was sent for examination, after which the issue of legal qualification will be resolved.

Both detainees were informed of suspicions of organizing illegal border crossing (Part 3, Article 332 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine).

We also previously wrote that the capital's law enforcement officers detained a woman who, according to investigators, fictitiously arranged men for booking jobs for 18 thousand US dollars and issued them with a deferral for traveling abroad.

In addition, the State Bureau of Investigation (SBI) recently submitted to the court the case materials regarding an officer of the TCP and SS in the Kyiv region. He is suspected of bribery.
