Kyiv region TCP officer to stand trial over $4,000 bribe

The State Bureau of Investigation (SBI) has submitted to the court the case materials regarding an officer of the Territorial Center of Procurement (TCP) and Social Support (SP) in the Kyiv region. He is suspected of bribery.
According to the case materials, the TCP officer took bribes for updating military registration data and organizing the passage of a military medical commission without further conscription. The official was caught red-handed earlier this year, when he was receiving the money.
According to investigators, in January, a conscript who was wanted and wanted to get an official job approached a representative of the Central Military District. The official promised to register his place of residence for $4,000, help him pass the military service without mobilization to update his data, and remove him from the wanted list.
He will be tried under Part 3 of Article 368 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine - receiving unlawful benefit by an official. The investigation of the case has been completed. The official faces up to 10 years in prison with confiscation of property.
He is currently in a pre-trial detention center. For the duration of the investigation, the court has chosen a preventive measure for him - detention. As noted by the State Bureau of Investigation, the investigation also established the involvement of another employee of the TCP, who helped implement the scheme, in particular, assisted in registering the place of residence.
It was previously reported that a booking scheme for $18,000 was exposed in Kyiv.
