Road repair embezzlement case opened in Mykolaiv region
In Mykolaiv region, suspicions were raised against the head of the village council and the director of a contracting organization. According to the investigation, they embezzled 367,000 hryvnias during road repairs in the Doroshivska community.
This was announced on June 9 at the Main Directorate of the National Police of Mykolaiv Region.
According to the investigation, in November 2025, the 37-year-old head of one of the village councils of the Voznesensky district and the 77-year-old director of a limited liability company entered into a contract for the current repair of the road surface of one of the streets in the community.
The entrepreneur entered inaccurate information about the scope and actual completion of the repairs into the acceptance certificates, stating that they were completed in full, although some of the work was not completed in full. At the same time, the village head, knowing about the actual state of the work, signed and stamped official documents with knowingly false information.
After that, the contractor received money from the budget for work that, according to the investigation, was not performed or was not performed in full. According to police, this resulted in losses of 367 thousand hryvnias.
Investigators informed the men of suspicion under the articles: "Appropriation and embezzlement of another's property through abuse of official position by an official, committed under martial law" and "Preparation and issuance by an official of knowingly false official documents."
The sanctions of the articles provide for up to eight years of imprisonment with deprivation of the right to hold certain positions or engage in certain activities for a period of up to three years. The suspects are currently being held in preventive measures, the police added.
