Ternopil region man held for illegal border crossing scheme

A man suspected of illegally transporting conscripts across the state border of Ukraine was detained in the Ternopil region.
The report states that the suspect developed a plan to cross the border outside of official checkpoints. This way, the two men were to enter Moldova:
According to the instructions, the "clients" were to arrive in Kamianets-Podilskyi under the guise of tourists and wait at the hotel for several days for further instructions. The men were to cover part of the route on foot, then cross the Dniester by boat, and then again move along the paths to the very border line. The detainee had prepared watercraft and heat-shielding capes in advance
According to the investigation, the man estimated his services at 20,000 euros. He was detained while receiving 23,000 US dollars (the equivalent of the agreed amount).
This was reported on the Facebook page of the Ternopil Regional Prosecutor's Office. The website of the National Police of the region states that the suspect is a resident of Chortkiv district, born in 1988.
During the search, bank cards, mobile phones, 23 thousand US dollars, about 30 thousand hryvnias, and an Audi A6 car were found and seized from him. The suspect was taken into custody as a preventive measure. Other participants in the scheme are being identified.
The illegal departure of men from Ukraine was uncovered by operatives of the Migration Police Department of the Main Police Department in Ternopil region. The operation was carried out by investigators and operatives of the Chortkiv District Police Department together with employees of the Security Service of Ukraine. The procedural management of the criminal proceedings is carried out by the Chortkiv District Prosecutor's Office.
Recall that, according to Article 62 of the Constitution of Ukraine, a person is presumed innocent of committing a crime and cannot be subjected to criminal punishment until his guilt is proven in accordance with the law and established by a court verdict of guilty.
