In Vinnytsia, SBI employees, together with the National Police, detained the head of the military medical commission and doctors who are suspected of helping the ex-deputy of the Zhmeryn city council Viktor Zherebniuk, who is accused of organizing a contract killing, to flee abroad.

According to the investigation materials, in January 2023, the Zhmeryn District Central Committee and SP issued Zherebniuk a fictitious diagnosis of disability, which became the basis for his release from military service and exclusion from military registration. The false conclusion was based on the family doctor's statement that the suspect had cirrhosis of the liver, which was not confirmed by any clinical studies.

The investigators established that on this basis Zherebnyuk left for Poland even before he was suspected of contract murder. A forensic medical examination confirmed that the deputy's diagnosis was falsified. Therefore, the Central Military Medical Commission canceled the decision on his unfitness for service.

The SBI reported the suspicion of the ex-deputy for using forged documents (Part 4 of Article 358 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine), and the head of Zhmerynsky MMC, the head of a local hospital and two therapists - for facilitating the illegal border crossing by a group of people (Part 3 of Article 332 Criminal Code of Ukraine). Investigators are preparing a petition to the court to choose a preventive measure in the form of detention for the suspects.

In August 2023, the SBI detained Zherebnyuk, an ex-deputy from the banned OPFL party, on suspicion of organizing the contract killing of another city council member.

Earlier, we reported that the Ministry of Health canceled 74 decisions on the establishment of disability for conscripts in Khmelnytskyi region after checks initiated due to the scandal with the corruption scheme of the head of the regional MSEK Tetyana Krupa.

In addition, "EBK" wrote that in 2024, 64 MSEC employees were suspected of committing crimes, and 9 people had already been convicted . In addition, 4,106 fictitious disability certificates, which were issued on the basis of forged documents, were cancelled.
