Judge in Zakarpattia caught taking a $1,300 bribe

The SAPO and NABU have exposed a judge from the Transcarpathian region for receiving an illegal benefit for canceling the seizure of timber. The man called the $1,300 bribe "candy."
This was reported by the press service of the Specialized Anti-Corruption Prosecutor's Office.
As part of the pre-trial investigation conducted by NABU detectives, it was established that from September 15 to November 28, 2025, the judge asked the director of a private company to give him and third parties a bribe for canceling the seizure of 20 cubic meters of timber.
He was informed of suspicion of requesting and receiving an illegal benefit. The judge's actions were classified under Part 3 of Article 368 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine.
The investigation is ongoing.
