NABU detains MP Kuzminykh over repeated court absences

The National Anti-Corruption Bureau has detained MP Serhiy Kuzminykh for his systematic failure to appear in court. The specialized anti-corruption prosecutor's office is accusing him of abuse of influence.
This was reported by the press service of the SAPO, but the name of the politician was not mentioned. According to media reports, this is Kuzminykh, who was previously fined for failure to appear.
A sitting MP has been detained, accused of receiving illegal benefits for assisting private companies in winning tenders for the supply of medical equipment in the Zhytomyr region. The detention was carried out by NABU detectives in accordance with the decision of the High Anti-Corruption Court in connection with the defendant's systematic failure to appear at court hearings. The last such failure to appear was due to the defendant's business trip to the Kingdom of Spain. The person has currently been taken to a temporary detention center. Consideration of the SAPO prosecutor's motion to change the preventive measure to detention without determining an alternative in the form of bail is scheduled for June 29, 2026 at 11:00
