NABU and SAPO have completed investigating the case on suspicion of former Minister of Health Maksym Stepanov and five other individuals in obtaining illegal benefits, legalizing income, and misappropriating over 20 million euros from a state-owned enterprise by inflating prices for the supply of holograms by 4–6 times.
This is reported by the press services of the authorities.
SAPO and NABU have completed the investigation into the case of the former director of the State Enterprise "Poligrafkombinat" and five other individuals suspected of receiving unlawful benefits in the form of copyrights to design elements of Ukrainian documents (stylized trident and map of Ukraine), legalization of income, as well as misappropriation of over 20 million euros from a state-owned enterprise by inflating prices for the supply of holograms by 4-6 times.
According to the investigation, Stepanov demanded that the French company re-register the copyrights to the design elements of Ukrainian documents to an Estonian company controlled by him. Subsequently, this company began to receive royalties for the use of the protective design even after the official was dismissed from his post. Part of the funds, in particular $124,790, was transferred to his daughter's account.
In addition, it was found that the person was involved in the appropriation of funds of a state enterprise by inflating the prices for the supply of holograms by 4–6 times. The investigation was carried out by a joint investigation team (JIT) of Ukraine, France, and Estonia, coordinated by Eurojust.
Let us remind you that Maksym Stepanov is a person involved in the EBK base.
We also previously reported that NABU and SAPO completed the investigation into the case of suspicion of former Deputy Minister of Agrarian Policy and Food Volodymyr Topchiy and the former Deputy Head of the Mohyliv-Podilskyi District State Administration of Vinnytsia Oblast in abuses.
