MP Odarchenko hiding from justice in Hungary

MP Andriy Odarchenko, who was found guilty in November 2024 of attempting to bribe the former head of the State Reconstruction Agency, Mustafa Nayyem, is hiding in Hungary.

Journalist sources in political circles and law enforcement agencies reported that on February 22, 2025, Hungarian police detained Odarchenko in the town of Vásároshnamen. During the document check, Hungarian police officers saw that the MP was wanted. However, during the investigation, Odarchenko reported that he had requested asylum in Hungary, so he was released.
It is also known that the convict does not live in this Hungarian town, but came to the Ukrainian border to pick up someone or something. And he lives in Budapest. The Hungarian authorities do not provide information about the fate of the people's representative

Last year, the SAPO prosecutor stated that, according to operational information, Odarchenko had fled abroad. Because of this, he was put on the national and international wanted list .
Later it turned out that the People's Deputy illegally crossed the border near the settlement of Krasnoilsk, Chernivtsi region and asked for asylum in Romania.
The Supreme Court also arrested People's Deputy Odarchenko in absentia and confiscated his bail.
