People's deputy Odarchenko was declared an international wanted man

Fugitive People's Deputy Odarchenko was declared an international wanted man.

The High Anti-Corruption Court (HACC) declared Andriy Odarchenko, a member of parliament from "Servant of the People", a suspect in a corruption scandal, on an international wanted list. 

The Anti-Corruption Center informs about this. According to NABU, the deputy's Mercedes is on site, but the driver lives in the apartment. He explained that since Tuesday, Odarchenko has not been at home - he does not know where he is, the deputy has not been contacted.

According to border guards, Odarchenko did not officially cross the border.

The prosecutor of the Specialized Anti-corruption Prosecutor's Office (SAP) added that the People's Deputy boasted on NABU records to the ex-head of the Nayemu Reconstruction Agency that he "solves all issues at customs at all levels."

The prosecutor suggests that he used these connections to leave. At the same time, the defense considers the request for an international search to be premature. They said that the prosecutor did not include operational information that Odarchenko was really abroad. The defense adds that Odarchenko's family lives in Transcarpathia, so the detectives should check if he is there.

"On the last day, Odarchenko left three of his mobile phones in the car and asked the driver to charge them in the apartment. He said that he would get to the parliament himself and return after the meeting. However, he did not return... He was supposed to be questioned this week, that is, the case moved to of the finals," the Anti-Corruption Center noted.

On September 18, 2024, information appeared that People's Deputy Odarchenko, who offered a bribe to Nayem, had disappeared. On November 21, 2023, SAP and NABU informed about the suspicion of the current People's Deputy, who tried to bribe a top official of the State Recovery Agency. The actions of the people's deputy are qualified under Part 4 of Art. 369 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine.

It has been established that a People's Deputy of Ukraine made an offer to a top official to give him an undue benefit for ensuring the adoption by the Interdepartmental Working Group of a decision on the allocation of funds from the fund for the elimination of the consequences of armed aggression for the repair of the buildings of the university in which the elected official continues to hold the position of rector (whose contract has been suspended). The proposed amount of undue benefit was supposed to be 8% of the amount of financing.

In the future, the suspect gave a top official - a person who occupies a particularly responsible position - a part of this illegal profit in the amount of 0.39 bitcoins, which at the time of the transaction was equivalent to 10 thousand US dollars.

On April 16, 2024, the indictment in the case was sent to the VAKS for review on the merits.

As of today, the consideration of the indictment is at the final stage - the interrogation of the accused is scheduled for September 18, 2024 at the court session.
