The acting director of a state vocational college in Chernivtsi district was reported under suspicion. She was probably offering men who were to be expelled money to stay in school and thus maintain their deferral from conscription.

This was reported on Facebook by the regional prosecutor's office.

According to the prosecutor's office, the head extended the "student" status of conscripts who were studying in college in order to receive a deferment from mobilization.

Law enforcement officers determined that the men were not studying and were not allowed to take the exams, so they should have been automatically expelled and their deferrals revoked. At the same time, the suspect promised to allow them to take the exams and ensure their successful completion of the session for money. This way, the men could continue to formally remain students and have a deferral from conscription.

The woman was detained after accepting a bribe. During searches of the college's office premises, more than 100,000 hryvnias in cash were seized, as well as draft records with the personal data of students, most of whom were men over 45 years old, who also needed to "close" the session in order to continue their studies and maintain their deferral from the draft.

The issue of choosing a preventive measure and removing the suspect from office is currently being considered. She faces five to ten years in prison.
