The deputy head of one of the departments of the State Emergency Service in Ivano-Frankivsk region will be tried for employing a conscript in order to obtain a deferment from mobilization. According to the investigation, he promised an acquaintance for $5,000 to find a man who wanted to avoid military service a job with a reservation at Ukrzaliznytsia.

An acquaintance asked the official to help find a job for a man who wanted to avoid military service. Since the candidate did not have the specialized education necessary to work in the State Emergency Service, the official offered another option - employment at the joint-stock company Ukrzaliznytsia. The official assured that he could negotiate with the company representatives about registering the man for work. He asked for 5 thousand dollars for his services

According to investigators, the deputy head of one of the departments of the State Emergency Service in the region received an advance payment of $2,500. After registering the candidate for the position of bulldozer driver, the suspect received the remaining amount. He was detained by employees of the State Bureau of Investigation and the Security Service of Ukraine. Earlier, the court chose a preventive measure for the official - detention with the possibility of posting bail.

The case has now been transferred to court. The official will be tried under Part 2 of Article 369-2 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine - receiving unlawful benefit for influencing a decision by an official authorized to perform state functions. The sanction of the article provides for up to five years in prison.

The procedural management was carried out by the Ivano-Frankivsk Regional Prosecutor's Office.
