SAP refers ex-NBU head Shevchenko’s case to court image

The Specialized Anti-Corruption Prosecutor's Office has sent an indictment to the court against former Chairman of the National Bank of Ukraine Kyrylo Shevchenko, former Deputy Chairman of the Board of Ukrgasbank Denys Chernyshov, and other individuals for embezzling more than UAH 206 million from Ukrgasbank.

This was reported by the press service of the SAPO, without specifying the names of the defendants. According to media reports, it is Shevchenko and Chernyshov. In addition to them, Chernyshov's wife Natalia, former deputy director of the department for work with corporate VIP clients of Ukrgasbank Olena Khmelenko, former first deputy prosecutor general Mykola Gerasimyuk and his wife Kateryna, entrepreneur Dmytro Kozak and former director of the department for work with corporate VIP clients of Ukrgasbank Oleksiy Lyuty are also accused in the case.

On February 28, 2025, the SAPO prosecutor, based on the materials of the NABU pre-trial investigation, sent to the court an indictment against 8 members of a criminal organization headed by the former chairman of the board of JSB "Ukrgasbank", which illegally withdrew UAH 206 million from the financial institution. The investigation into the case was completed on September 27, 2023. Since then, the defense has been familiarizing itself with the case materials

We also previously wrote that after July 15, the Specialized Anti-Corruption Prosecutor's Office will refer the case to court on suspicion of the former head of the State Service for Special Communications and Information Protection Yuriy Shchyhol, his former deputy Viktory Zhora, and others in embezzling state funds in the amount of over UAH 62 million.
