Shurma refuses to return to Ukraine in NABU investigation

Former Deputy Head of the Office of the President of Ukraine Rostyslav Shurma said he is ready to cooperate with the investigation, but from Germany. The 42-year-old ex-employee is one of nine defendants in a scheme to appropriate funds intended for payments under the "green" tariff, through which the state paid more than UAH 140 million for electricity from solar plants in the occupied part of Zaporizhia.
Rostyslav Shurma wrote on his Facebook page that he is not hiding from the investigation and is ready to cooperate with anti-corruption law enforcement officers within the framework of criminal proceedings.
As of today, my permanent place of residence is the Federal Republic of Germany, as is known to the pre-trial investigation body. It is for this reason that I have repeatedly officially requested to ensure my participation in procedural actions in the manner prescribed by law - by videoconference or on the territory of Ukrainian diplomatic institutions abroad.
The former official noted that he does not plead guilty to any crime and is convinced that he did not commit any illegal actions.
At the same time, I cannot ignore the signs of selective and politically motivated pressure that accompany these proceedings.
Rostislav Shurma is a suspect in the EBK database.
We will remind, on January 21, 2026, NABU and SAPO reported the exposure of a scheme to appropriate funds intended for payments under the "green" tariff , which operated in favor of a number of commercial energy generating enterprises located in the occupied territory of Zaporizhia region.
Among the suspects are former Deputy Head of the President's Office Rostyslav Shurma, his brother Oleg, a confidant of the former high-ranking official, managers and employees of controlled enterprises, as well as the former commercial director of Zaporizhzhiaoblenergo JSC.
