MSEC Mariupol Head Detained for $5000 Bribe Allegation
On December 18, the Khmelnytskyi City District Court partially satisfied the request of the senior investigator of the Main Police Department in Khmelnytskyi region, agreed with the prosecutor, and applied a preventive measure in the form of detention until February 12, 2025 inclusive to the head of the regional MSEC No. 2 of the city of Mariupol, Donetsk region, temporarily located in Khmelnytskyi.
The court noted that she was also set bail in the amount of 80 subsistence minimums for able-bodied persons, which amounts to 242,240 hryvnias.
We remind you that the medical worker was informed of the suspicion of committing a criminal offense under Part 3 of Article 368 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine (Acceptance of an offer, promise or receipt of an improper benefit by an official).
The woman is accused of deciding to illegally enrich herself by extorting and receiving undue benefit from a forcibly displaced person for not obstructing the passage of the medical and social commission of the regional MSEC No. 2 of the city of Mariupol, Donetsk region, and making a positive decision on establishing the third group of disability.
Earlier, the Security Service of Ukraine, together with the police, exposed an intermediary who, for bribes, influenced officials of the Ivano-Frankivsk Regional Bureau of Medical and Social Expertise . The detainee and the heads of the MSEC units were searched, during which 30 thousand dollars and documents for real estate that the officials did not include in the declaration were seized.
