Court Dismisses Holovko's Appeal to Restore His Position
The Ternopil District Administrative Court rejected the lawsuit of the former head of the Ternopil Regional Council Mykhailo Golovko for reinstatement.

In June 2023, he was detained for extorting UAH 2.4 million in bribes from a businessman, after which regional council deputies voted for his release. However, Mykhailo Golovko was reinstated through the Eighth Appeals Administrative Court of Lviv, and regional council deputies dismissed him a second time.
In 2023, 41-year-old Mykhailo Golovka and two deputy heads of the Ternopil RMA, Ihor Demianchuk and Ihor Hayduk, were informed of suspicion of bribery. The officials were exposed by NABU and SAP when Golovko had already received part of the bribe. As part of the proceedings, the HACC arrested Mykhailo Golovka and ordered him to be arrested with an alternative of 805,000. UAH pledge. The next day, he was released from the pre-trial detention center on bail, and a few days later he returned to work.
Due to a corruption scandal, in October 2023, the deputies of the Ternopil Regional Council voted to dismiss Golovko. He tried to resume his post in March 2024, but the Ternopil District Administrative Court did not satisfy the claim. However, the official appealed this decision in the Eighth Appeal Administrative Court of Lviv, which decided to pay him 591,000. UAH salary for the period of forced absenteeism.
On the same day, August 1, deputies of the Ternopil Regional Council dismissed Holovka from the post of chairman for the second time. He again decided to challenge this decision in court. However, the Ternopil District Administrative Court rejected his claim.
