Former Security Service of Ukraine employee Oleksandr Gromyk was mobilized into the Defense Forces of Ukraine, which led to the suspension of his case. The Specialized Anti-Corruption Prosecutor's Office accuses him of leading a criminal organization at the Volyn Customs, whose activities caused losses to the state in the amount of more than UAH 475 million.

Gromyk's lawyer asked the court to stop the hearing of the case and to separate the materials concerning his client into a separate proceeding. As he noted, the accused was appointed to the position of an officer of the first company of the fourth department of a military unit with the rank of captain. From this unit he was seconded to another to perform combat missions and Gromyk is currently in a combat zone.

According to media reports, Gromyk was mobilized to the SSU, and from there he was assigned to another military unit. In the letter, the commander of this military unit indicates that the accused is in the area of combat operations and is directly involved in the performance of a combat mission.

The lawyer's request is partially granted.
