Over ₴5M Embezzled in Zaporizhzhia Firewood Purchases

BES detectives identified the service persons of the sovereign installations of the Zaporizhzhya region of the AFU and the physical persons-entrepreneurs who captured the sovereign funds on a particularly large scale. There is talk about the theft and “wasting” of 5 million hryvnias when purchasing firewood for the needs of the AFU.

It has been established that at the beginning of 2024, the suspected planting powers entered into direct contracts for the purchase of firewood for the needs of the AFU children from the Zaporizhzhya region at significantly protected prices. BES detectives reported the suspicion to two members of the AFU government and several NP under Part 5 of Art. 191 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine (appropriation, waste of land or plundering the path of evil service camp). Also, four enterprises were additionally informed about the suspicion under Part 2, Article 209 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine (legalization (suppression) of a mine acquired by a malicious way).

An arrest was imposed on the most suspected persons in the amount of 26 million UAH. In the meantime, food is being provided to prevent passing people from entering the country who are suspicious of the outpost. The pre-trial investigation is troubling.
