130 Vehicles Smuggled as "Humanitarian Aid" Uncovered in Lviv Region
The scheme of illegal importation of 130 cars under the guise of humanitarian aid was exposed in Lviv region, the Bureau of Economic Security reports.
The investigation established that a group of people founded a charity fund and imported 130 cars under the guise of humanitarian aid for the Armed Forces of Ukraine from February 2024. Thanks to this, they avoided paying taxes and customs payments in the amount of about 8 million hryvnias.
Some of the imported cars were sold through online platforms for trading used cars. FIS detectives conducted two control purchases of cars with the participation of the whistleblower. Law enforcement officers also searched the residence of the suspects, seizing documents, vehicles, funds and computer equipment.
The pre-trial investigation continues, and law enforcement officers are establishing a full range of persons involved in illegal activities.

In addition, it recently became known that a doctor of the PNE Saint Michael's Clinical Hospital of Kyiv and a military serviceman are suspected of aiding and abetting a bribe of $5,000 from a combat veteran for the establishment of a disability group.
