Ex-NSDC deputy secretary Hladkovskyi detained in Spain

Former First Deputy Secretary of the National Security and Defense Council of Ukraine, Oleg Gladkovsky, was detained in Spain today, May 14. The issue of his extradition to Ukraine is being resolved.

According to the investigation, in 2017, Oleg Gladkovsky, former Deputy Minister of Defense Igor Pavlovsky , and former director of the Department of Military-Technical Policy for the Development of Armaments and Military Equipment of the Ministry of Defense Andriy Araptanov organized the purchase of trucks within the framework of a state defense order at prices that significantly exceeded those provided for in the budget.
The NABU stated that this resulted in over 17 million hryvnias in losses to the state. Recall, in August 2022, the Supreme Court of Criminal Appeals assigned the case of Gladkovsky Sr. to consideration. Before that, Gladkovsky, whose preventive measure was changed to a personal obligation, stopped appearing at court hearings, and then left abroad. In April 2024, he was put on the wanted list, and in May he was arrested in absentia.
