HACC refused to change MP Klochko’s pretrial measure
The High Anti-Corruption Court did not change the preventive measure for People's Deputy Andriy Klochko, whom the Specialized Anti-Corruption Prosecutor's Office accuses of illicit enrichment.
This decision was made by the Supreme Court of Ukraine.
As is known, the court applied a preventive measure in the form of a bail of UAH 12 million with obligations to People's Deputy Klochko, namely: to appear upon every request; not to leave the city of Kyiv without permission; to report any change in his place of residence and place of work; to refrain from communicating with witnesses in the case and to hand over his foreign passports for safekeeping.
Klochko's defense attorney asked the court to change the restraining order.
The defense attorney's motion to change the preventive measure is denied.
Andriy Klochko is a figure in the EBK database.
Recall, NABU and SAPO reported People's Deputy Andriy Klochko on suspicion of illicit enrichment. According to the investigation, in 2020-2021, the People's Deputy acquired assets worth a total of UAH 25 million, although the official income and savings of him and his wife during this period amounted to no more than UAH 14 million. Thus, the difference between the value of the purchased property and the People's Deputy's funds amounted to UAH 11 million. These are 3 land plots in the Kyiv region, 5 apartments in the capital, 2 non-residential premises, as well as Tesla and Mercedes-Benz cars, the bulk of which he registered for his mother and sister.
Previously, NABU and SAPO declared suspicion against the former State Secretary of the Ministry of Internal Affairs.
We also wrote that a district council deputy was detained in the Lviv region for taking a bribe.
