HCJ Dismisses Judge Burkhan for Bribery

The High Council of Justice dismissed Serhiy Burkhan from the position of judge of the Verkhniodniprovskyi District Court of Dnipropetrovsk Oblast due to a significant disciplinary offense. The Specialized Anti-Corruption Prosecutor's Office accuses him of receiving $2,500 in illegal benefits.

This decision was supported by the 12 members of the HCJ present.

The High Court of Justice decided: to dismiss Burkhan Serhiy Mykhailovych from the position of judge of the Verkhniodniprovskyi District Court of Dnipropetrovsk Region on the basis of Clause 3, Part 6, Article 126 of the Constitution of Ukraine
– the decision was announced by the head of the body, Hryhoriy Usyk.

Serhiy Burkhan is a figure in the EBK database.

As a reminder, the National Anti-Corruption Bureau and the Specialized Anti-Corruption Prosecutor's Office have completed investigating the case on suspicion of Serhiy Burkhan, the head of the Verkhniodniprovskyi District Court of Dnipropetrovsk Oblast.
