SC refuses to suspend sentence of ex-Sumy police official

The Supreme Court did not stay the execution of the sentence sentencing Roman Shevchenko, former deputy head of the investigative department of the Main Directorate of the National Police in Sumy region, to 7 years in prison .
As is known, the High Anti-Corruption Court found former Sumy Region Police Chief Shevchenko and lawyer Rudnev guilty. They were sentenced to 7 and 6 years in prison, respectively. Later, the Appeals Chamber of the High Anti-Corruption Court left this sentence unchanged. Therefore, cassation appeals were filed against these decisions. Shevchenko's defense lawyer also asked to suspend the execution of the sentence.
