As a reminder, on Thursday, February 6, NABU and SAPO exposed the activities of a criminal organization in the Kyiv City Council , which was seizing state land for development.
According to media reports, among the defendants in the case are: former deputy Denis Komarnytsky , deputy mayor of Kyiv Vitali Klitschko Petro Olenich, head of the commission on land issues Mykhailo Terentyev, and commission member Olena Marchenko.
In total, law enforcement officers detained seven people that day and announced 10 suspects.
According to law enforcement officials, the suspects found land plots and registered buildings in the names of controlled individuals that were never there.
The suspects then submitted applications to the city council for the transfer of ownership of land plots for the maintenance of these facilities, which allowed them to avoid bidding. After submitting the applications, the deputies involved in the scheme voted to transfer the rights to the land, for which they received bribes in the form of money and real estate.
