The higher anti-corruption court extended until December 22 the term of office of the mayor of Mukachevo, Andrii Balogu, at the same time allowing him to move freely on the territory of Ukraine.

Earlier, Baloga was arrested with the possibility of bail of 30 million hryvnias, which was paid for him. After that, he was released from the pre-trial detention center with a number of obligations: to appear at the first call, not to leave Mukachevo without permission, to inform about a change of place of residence and work, to avoid contact with suspects and witnesses, to hand in foreign passports and wear an electronic bracelet.

Later, the electronic bracelet was removed, and movement was allowed within Zakarpattia Oblast. The SAP prosecutor requested the extension of the remaining duties, but the judge decided to extend Baloga's movement permit to the entire territory of Ukraine.

The request of the prosecutor of the Specialized Anti-Corruption Prosecutor's Office to extend the period of validity of the duties assigned to the suspect (Baloga) in the criminal proceedings should be partially granted. To extend to the suspect the period of validity of the obligations provided for in Part 5 of Art. 194 of the CCP, until December 22, 2024 inclusive

- says the court decision.

NABU and SAP reported the suspicion to the mayor of Mukachevo, Andrii Baloza, and former People's Deputy Mykhailo Lanyo. According to the investigation, the mayor of Mukachevo secured the adoption at the city council session of the decision to sell the plot at an almost 9 times lower price to a private company, the actual controller of which is the head of the district council, former People's Deputy Mykhailo Lanyo.

The basis for this was an expert monetary assessment with an understated value of the plot, for which the owners of the appraising company were given a bribe. As a result of such arrangements, land with a market value of UAH 84.6 million was sold for only UAH 9.6 million. Despite such a meager price, the mayor made a personal decision and granted the company a 6-month installment payment. Losses to the territorial community amount to UAH 74.9 million.

Earlier, the High Anti-Corruption Court decided to remove the electronic bracelet from Mykhailo Lanyo , but extended other duties until November 25.

In addition, we wrote that HACC extended until December 10 the period of validity of the duties assigned to the suspended deputy chairman of the Zaporizhzhya Regional Council, Vladyslav Kutsenko.
