High Anti-Corruption Court Keeps Bail Unchanged for OPG Prosecutor
The Appellate Chamber of the High Anti-Corruption Court saw no grounds for increasing the amount of bail set for Oleg Hunko, the prosecutor of the procedural management department of the pre-trial investigation of the department for combating human rights violations in the law enforcement and penitentiary spheres of the Prosecutor General's Office.
This decision was made by the AC HACC on December 5.
As is known, on September 9, the anti-corruption court extended Hunko's arrest for another two months, but reduced the bail to UAH 3 million. Later, his arrest was extended again and the bail was set at UAH 908,400. Hunko was released from custody on bail. The prosecutor of the Specialized Anti-Corruption Prosecutor's Office filed an appeal against this.
The appeal shall be dismissed, and the ruling of the investigating judge of the High Anti-Corruption Court dated 01.11.2024 shall be left unchanged. The ruling shall enter into force from the moment of its promulgation, shall be final and shall not be subject to appeal in cassation.
According to "Slovo i Dilo", on November 7, bail was posted for Hunko and he was released from custody. He was given the following obligations: to appear upon every request; not to leave Kyiv without permission; to report a change of residence; to refrain from communicating with four people; to hand over his foreign passports and to wear an electronic bracelet. The obligations are valid until December 13.
