HACC Appeals Softens Ex-Judge Bulka’s Sentence

The Appeals Chamber of the High Anti-Corruption Court reduced the sentence imposed on retired judge of the Commercial Court of Ivano-Frankivsk region, Volodymyr Bulka, from 6 to 5 years of imprisonment.
As is known, the anti-corruption court found Bulka guilty of receiving illegal benefits. He was sentenced to 6 years in prison with confiscation of all property. The accused was taken into custody in the courtroom.
Based on the results of the consideration, the panel of judges of the AP of the Supreme Court of Justice partially satisfied the appeals of the defense. The verdict of the Supreme Court of Justice was changed and mitigated, the sentence imposed on the convict was up to 5 years of imprisonment with deprivation of the right to hold certain positions and confiscation of all property belonging to him by right of ownership. The appeal of the convict's ex-wife was also partially satisfied and the arrest of part of the property belonging to her by right of personal ownership was canceled. In the remaining part, the court verdict was left unchanged, the appeals were not satisfied
