HACC Appeals Chamber to review ex-OPG official’s verdict image

The Appeals Chamber of the High Anti-Corruption Court will consider appeals against the verdict sentencing the former head of the department for the preparation of materials on disciplinary liability of the Prosecutor General's Office, Oleg Halchenko-Avilov, and his accomplice, Igor Osypovych, to 6.5 and 6 years, respectively.

Such decisions were made by the AC HACC.

As is known, the anti-corruption court found Galchenko-Avilov and Osypovych guilty of incitement to bribery. The former prosecutor of the Prosecutor General's Office was sentenced to 6.5 years in prison, and his accomplice to 6 years. The defendants and their defense lawyers have filed appeals against the verdict.

As a reminder, NABU and SAPO have exposed the prosecutor of the Prosecutor General's Office and his intermediary for fraud and incitement to bribery.

We previously wrote that the SAPO is demanding the confiscation of the car of the head of the Ministry of Justice.

It also became known earlier that the economist was issuing a "reservation" at a defense plant in exchange for a bribe.
