HACC to Review Appeal on Ex-Audit Chamber Head Mahuta’s Verdict
The Appellate Chamber of the High Anti-Corruption Court has scheduled for January 22 the consideration of appeals against the verdict acquitting the former head of the Accounting Chamber, Roman Maguta, the former director of the Department for the Agro-Industrial Complex of the Accounting Chamber, Maria Shulezhko, and her nephew Maksym from charges of seizing an official apartment.

Recall, Maguta is accused of abuse of office. According to the prosecution, as the former head of the Accounting Chamber, he helped in the alienation of an official apartment in favor of a relative of the former director of the AIC Department of the Accounting Chamber of Ukraine, Maria Shulezhko. This is the nephew of Maksym Shulezhko. According to the investigation, official Shulezhko did not need official housing, despite this, she received it after her nephew privatized the apartment and gave it to her. The SAPO also accuses Shulezhko and her nephew of seizing the official apartment of the Accounting Chamber.
