Appeal set hearing date for ex-PGO official’s case

The Appeals Chamber of the High Anti-Corruption Court has scheduled a hearing for April 23 and completed preparations for consideration of the appeal against the verdict sentencing the former head of the department for the preparation of materials on disciplinary liability of the Prosecutor General's Office, Oleg Halchenko-Avilov, and his accomplice, Igor Osypovych, to 6.5 and 6 years, respectively.
As is known, the anti-corruption court found Galchenko-Avilov and Osypovych guilty of incitement to bribery. The former prosecutor of the Prosecutor General's Office was sentenced to 6.5 years in prison, and his accomplice to 6 years. The defendants and their defense lawyers have filed appeals against the verdict.
