Appeal in ex-Odesa official bribery case set for July 3

The Appeals Chamber of the High Anti-Corruption Court has scheduled a hearing on July 3 on the appeal against the verdict, which found former deputy head of the Izmail local prosecutor's office of the Odessa region Ivan Marakhovsky and former deputy of the Odessa regional council Ivan Boychenko guilty of receiving $40,000 in illegal benefits.
As is known, the anti-corruption court found Marakhovsky and Boychenko guilty. They were sentenced to 8 and 10 years in prison, respectively. The defense filed appeals against this verdict.
