Appeal upholds sentence for ex-healthcare official

The Appeals Chamber of the High Anti-Corruption Court left unchanged the verdict sentencing the former director of the Chernivtsi Regional Perinatal Center, Dmytro Manchulenko, to 6 years in prison for attempting to bribe officials of the Chernivtsi Regional Council.
This decision was made by the AC HACC, the court's press service reports, but does not specify the name of the accused. According to media reports, this is about Manchulenko. As is known, the anti-corruption court found Manchulenko guilty and sentenced him to 6 years in prison. The accused himself and his defense lawyers filed appeals.
On May 22, the Administrative Court of the Supreme Court of Justice upheld the verdict of the Supreme Court of Justice of the Republic of Ukraine dated 04/08/2024, by which the former General Director of the Chernivtsi Regional Prenatal Center was found guilty of offering and providing an illegal benefit to an official (Part 4, Article 369 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine). The court of first instance sentenced the convict to 6 years of imprisonment without confiscation of property and applied special confiscation in the amount of 12,000 US dollars. Based on the results of the consideration, the panel of judges dismissed the appeals of the defense, and the verdict of the Supreme Court remained unchanged.
