Appeal resumes case of ex-judge Lysiuk

The Appeals Chamber of the High Anti-Corruption Court resumed hearing the appeal against the verdict sentencing former judge of the Baryshiv District Court of Kyiv Region, Oleksandr Lysyuk, to 8.5 years in prison.
As is known, the anti-corruption court found the head of the Baryshivskyi district court of Kyiv region, Oleksandr Lysyuk, guilty of receiving unlawful benefits. He was sentenced to 8.5 years in prison with a 3-year disqualification from holding positions in state authorities. He is also prohibited from holding managerial positions for the next 3 years after serving his main sentence. In addition, the court confiscated all property belonging to the accused. The defense filed a complaint against this decision.
Later, Lysyuk mobilized and the hearing of his case was stopped. Later, the prosecutor of the Specialized Anti-Corruption Prosecutor's Office requested that the hearing of the case be resumed.
The motion is granted. The appeal proceedings on the appeal of the defendant's defense counsel (Lysiuk) against the verdict of the HACC of March 27, 2023 in criminal proceedings are to be resumed. The court session is to be scheduled for 1:00 p.m. on May 6, 2026 (with a reserve court session scheduled for 10:00 a.m. on May 12, 2026) in the premises of the Supreme Court of Criminal Appeals

We also previously reported that the Appeals Chamber of the High Anti-Corruption Court upheld the verdict sentencing former judge of the liquidated District Administrative Court of Kyiv, Olena Vlasenkova, to 5.5 years in prison for receiving unlawful benefits. She was taken into custody in the courtroom.
